Catchment Connect – Enhancing Farm Dams for Climate Resilience Project
The King Island Landcare Group is improving farm dams across the island to support better water management and climate resilience. With community funding, the project has created a demonstration site showing practical ways to enhance dams through fencing, planting and smart design. These improvements help protect water quality, support wildlife, improve stock health and strengthen farm landscapes. The project aligns with Landcare Tasmania’s Catchment Connect – Enhancing Farm Dams for Climate Resilience program, helping landholders build drought resilience while boosting on-farm biodiversity. Generously funded by The Crown in Right of Tasmania (represented by the department of Premier and Cabinet).
